Job Title: Accounts Receivable Administrator: Reporting to Controller

This position will be responsible for processing receivables including cheques, EFT, credit card receipts and updating the customer database which involves a significant amount of data input. The individual will also be required to respond to both internal and external customer queries. Assistance in the preparation of monthly accounting reconciliations will be required.

Job Location: Downtown Toronto

The ideal candidate should:

  • 2-3 years of A/R experience, preferably servicing professional customers (e.g. lawyers, accountants, etc.)
  • Education - college diploma or higher level in accounting or related area is preferred
  • Experience in processing EFT, insufficient cheques (NSF), credit card payments
  • Excellent telephone and communication skills
  • Microsoft Office skills – including proficiency in Excel and Word as well as database spreadsheet entry
  • Ability to multitask
  • Strong and accurate data entry skills

Job Title: Administration Manager: Reporting to Vice President, Claims
(Permanent Full-Time, 1 Position)

We are currently seeking an Administration Manager to join our team. This position will consist of the management of the claims administration staff including resource planning, acquisition, integration, and oversight of work assignments, individual goal setting, performance management and development, policy and practice compliance. This position will coordinate the day to day operations of the administrative support staff with assistance from the team leaders. Plans, directs, supervises, and evaluates work flow. Will also have to co-ordinate work activities to achieve the volume expected to meet claims processing and admin support requirements. This position will also monitor the performance of administration staff according to established processes and standards.

The ideal candidate should:

  • have a community college or university degree in a relevant field (preferred);
  • have experience managing staff;

(Permanent Full-time, 2 positions)

We are currently seeking 2 Senior Claims Counsel to join our team. This position will perform the duties of managing case loads of complex files. Assists Unit Director in the management of professional staff. Will be involved in resourcing, performance planning and development, and coaching. Must also be able to participate in continuous development of intellectual property in areas of specialization.

Job Title: TitlePLUS Business Analyst/Project Coordinator: Reporting to Vice-President, TitlePLUS
(Permanent Full-Time, 1 Position)

The role of the Business Analyst / Project Coordinator involves bridging the technical or business communication gap between the software development or project implementation teams and the management, executive or business teams.

The main functions of the Business Analyst / Project Coordinator are as follows:

• responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of TitlePLUS technology initiatives

• work with internal and external stakeholders, management, technical staff and end users to gather requirements and perform analysis of operational needs, understand the impact of changes and identify problems

• develop recommendations re: system enhancements, system requirements and priorities

• write detailed specifications of end user needs, reporting requirements, system functions and steps required to develop or modify systems

• coordinate and perform user acceptance testing and quality assurance

• coordinate implementation activities, project tasks, deadlines and roll-out schedules

• work independently on assigned tasks, or in a group with team members. Does not directly supervise others

• plan and prepare instructional documents, conduct training

Job Location: Toronto

The ideal candidate should:

  • Have knowledge and understanding of business analysis research principles, processes and techniques
  • Have the ability to develop and prepare business analyses and plans, web specifications, quality assurance test plans/scripts.
  • Have a university degree in Business, Information Technology or related field; CCBA or CBAP designation, preferred
  • Have a minimum of 3/5 years of related experience
  • Have a broad interest and experience in office technology, including experience with Microsoft Office suite, Lotus Notes, workflow productivity tools, and the Internet
  • Have knowledge of project management principles, practices, techniques and tools
  • Have proven experience in working collaboratively with people of different backgrounds and technical abilities
  • Have strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with proven experience using these to resolve business/technical problems
  • Have the ability to learn and adapt quickly, be flexible and willing to undertake a wide variety of challenging tasks
  • Have proven attention to detail, organization and time management skills
  • Have excellent English communication skills – both written and oral; French language skills would be an asset
  • Having practical knowledge and understanding of the legal and/or real estate and/or title insurance industry is an asset.

We are seeking a leader for our Claims Department, which is known for its track record of excellent claims management and pursuit of best practices in a dynamic team culture.

Your responsibility for managing the Claims Department at LAWPRO® will encompass overseeing best practices in claims handling, helping resolve legally complex claims, strategic planning and budgeting, managing the Company’s relationship with defense counsel, and advising on product development and risk management initiatives. You will be a key resource to the Board and, along with other team members, you will play an active role in the relationships with key external constituents. You will appreciate the opportunity to have a direct impact on the Company’s results, while also being on the cutting edge of many issues affecting the legal community. You will be managing a department of approximately 25 lawyers, plus other claims professionals and staff.

  • be called to the Ontario Bar and in good standing with the Law Society of Upper Canada (or other Canadian jurisdiction);
