Agile Business Analyst

Job Title: Agile Business Analyst: Reporting to the Project Manager

The role of the Agile Business Analyst involves internal business research and analysis for all projects in LAWPRO. The Agile Business Analyst will work with key members of each department to assess current business processes, identify areas of improvement and define requirements and the value to customer.

Key activities for the successful applicant will include:

  • Translating system or product directives and document detailed user stories, effectively representing customer needs
  • Work with Product Owner(s) to define, refine and maintain backlog items, with clearly articulated acceptance criteria
  • Develop mock-up designs of new functionality or systems as needed
  • Serve as the primary source of information for the delivery team, offering clear definitions of the targeted capability and the intended value to the (internal) customer
  • Work hands-on with the delivery team to prioritize, plan, and deliver software that meets requirements
  • Help design, co-ordinate and/or execute test plans
  • Sign off on the acceptance criteria as new development are marked as completed and document release notes
  • Prepare or review project status reports, releases notes and documentation

The ideal candidate should:

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree (e.g. computer science, engineering, or equivalent);
  • Have at least 8 years of product owner or Business Analyst in an agile environment experience. Preferably a certified CSPO;
  • Have a deep understanding of development practices like Agile & Scrum;
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Have strong analytical skills with excellent problem solving abilities;
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities;
  • Ability to design and turn ambiguity into clarity in a fast-changing environment;
  • Be proactive and take initiative with little or vague directions at times to include desire to solve problems and be resourceful in seeking answers;
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships;
  • Team player and capable of thinking outside the box.
