Communications Coordinator Co-op posting

Under general supervision of the Director of Communications, the Communications Coordinator will focus on creating clear and concise digital materials in support of the strategic goals of the company.

The Communications Coordinator assists with the company’s communications activities including video production and editing, graphic design and social media content. Some administrative responsibilities and event management support are also part of the job.

Work Performed

  • Produces and edits digital materials, including social media graphics, posters, postcards, brochures, and/or illustrations, in line with brand and with attention to audience needs
  • Writes, creates, and edits animated and live videos
  • Develops templates that help accelerate production and unify the look and feel of office materials and policy document
  • Edits/proofs communication or marketing material
  • Monitors and responds to comments in social media channels
  • Produces analytical reports to inform decision-making
  • Organizes and manages digital assets
  • Manages, writes, and posts content for SharePoint intranet

Preferred Qualifications

Current student in degree or certificate Program in a relevant discipline or experience in the field of communications, graphic design, digital media, marketing, journalism, public relations, preferred.

Skills

  • Experience working with social media and websites in an organizational/corporate environment
  • Demonstrated ability for graphic design and using Adobe Creative Cloud suite including Premiere Pro
  • Understanding of current digital, social media, and content marketing trends
  • Exceptional writing abilities, being able to translate complex information for a general audience in concise, efficient, and engaging copy
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work with diverse individuals in a complex setting
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Knowledge and experience of working in a brand environment, with an understanding of visual design principles
  • Experience with social media monitoring and management, website analytics, and data visualization tools
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud including Premiere Pro
  • Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy, when working with confidential and sensitive information
  • Service-oriented, and able to function productively in diverse and multi-disciplinary project teams
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, with an ability to deliver effective presentations
  • Accuracy and attention to detail and an ability to work independently and assess own performance
  • Exercises good judgment and maturity in all communications
