Mark Surchin

Mark Surchin has recently retired as a partner in the business law group at Goodmans LLP in Toronto, where he maintained an active transactional and advisory practice in business law. Recognized as a prominent lawyer in various publications, Mark has retained his license under Mark Surchin Professional Corporation and serves as “senior counsel” at Founders LLP. Mark is heavily engaged in board work and now holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors in partnership with the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.

In 2023, Mark was elected as a bencher of the Law Society of Ontario and serves on the governing board of Brandeis University in the Greater Boston area. As that board role comes to an end, Mark has been elected as an Alumni Governor to serve on Governing Council at University of Toronto. His three-year term begins on July 1st.

Additionally, Mark teaches “Business Organizations” at the Faculty of Law at the University of Toronto
