LAWPRO is seeking an experienced lawyer to fill an existing vacancy as PracticePRO Counsel on our Claims Prevention and Stakeholder Relations (CPSR) team. This is an opportunity to join a well-established program that has supported Ontario lawyers for more than two decades.

This role may appeal to lawyers looking to apply their experience in a different way, combining legal knowledge with education, writing, presenting, and relationship-building.

You’ll have the opportunity to connect with lawyers, law firms, and legal influencers across Ontario while helping develop the resources, tools, and educational programs that support the practice of law. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in real estate law and/or legal practice management.

As PracticePRO Counsel, you will work closely with colleagues across LAWPRO to research, develop, and deliver practical resources for lawyers, including presentations, articles, checklists, videos, and other educational content. Your work will help lawyers reduce claims risk, address practice challenges, and improve client service.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a lawyer who is curious, practical, and enjoys helping others learn and succeed. The ideal candidate will:

• Be a licensed lawyer in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
• Have at least five years of legal practice experience.
• Bring experience in one or more of the following areas: real estate, civil litigation, corporate/commercial law, bodily injury, wills and estates, tax law, and/or legal practice management (including law firm operations, risk management, process improvement, or legal technology implementation).
• Enjoy researching complex legal and practice management issues and translating them into practical, accessible guidance.
• Have exceptional writing skills and the ability to create engaging content for both legal and non-legal audiences.
• Take a proactive and creative approach to developing educational resources.
• Stay current on legal and industry developments and update materials to reflect changes in the law and practice environment.
• Be a confident and engaging presenter, comfortable delivering CPD programs, conference presentations, webinars, and short-form video content.
• Be willing to travel throughout Ontario.
• Balance strong attention to detail with the ability to see the bigger picture.
• Be adaptable and comfortable communicating in a more approachable and conversational style than traditional legal writing.
• Embrace new technologies and use them effectively to enhance learning, engagement, collaboration, and user experience.
• Demonstrate a commitment to LAWPRO’s vision, values, and organizational goals.
