Mark Surchin

Mark Surchin has recently retired as a partner in the business law group at Goodmans LLP in Toronto, where he maintained an active transactional and advisory practice in business law. Recognized as a prominent lawyer in various publications, Mark has retained his license under Mark Surchin Professional Corporation to support younger lawyers in establishing their new practices as “senior counsel,” while also continuing his involvement in board work. Mark is currently enrolled in the Directors Education Program offered by the Institute of Corporate Directors and the Rotman School at the University of Toronto, aiming to obtain his ICD.D designation. Additionally, Mark teaches “Business Organizations” at the Faculty of Law at the University of Toronto.

In 2023, Mark was elected as a bencher of the Law Society of Ontario and serves on the governing board of Brandeis University in the Greater Boston area.
