Tom Teahen

Tom joined the Law Society in February 2026 as its Chief Executive Officer. He is a lawyer and senior executive with extensive experience spanning government, the broader public sector and highly regulated industries. Tom has a strong record of advancing public interest mandates, strengthening governance and leading complex organizations through periods of change.
Before joining the Law Society, Tom spent five years in the private sector as a senior executive at a multinational renewable fuels and ethanol producer. He was previously President and Chief Executive Officer of Ontario’s Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, one of North America’s largest insurance organizations. Earlier in his career, Tom held senior roles in government, including serving as Chief of Staff to a former Premier of Ontario. Throughout his career, Tom has been known for his integrity, sound judgment and ability to build trust across diverse perspectives. He brings a clear focus on service excellence, accountability and transparent, principled decision-making.
Tom contributes significant governance experience, including service on the Board of Directors of Avricore Health. He holds a Bachelor of Laws from Queen’s University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from Western University, and was called to the Bar in 1997.
