Cyber security incident at Homewood Health affecting the Member Assistance Program

LAWPRO has been informed by Homewood Health, which delivers a wide range of health and wellness services across Canada, of a cyber security incident impacting its IT systems.

Homewood Health is contracted as an independent third-party provider to deliver the Member Assistance Program (MAP) which provides health, well-being and a variety of counselling services to licensees, licensing candidates, law and paralegal students, members of the judiciary, and their families.

We have been informed by Homewood Health that the personal information of some of its clients across its national network may have been accessed during this incident. This may include some individuals and family members who have contacted Homewood through the Member Assistance Program.

Neither the Law Society nor LAWPRO, which helps to fund the program, has information about any individuals or their family members who contacted Homewood Health, accessed MAP services, or any information about the nature of services that may have been received through the program.

Individuals who have accessed MAP services may contact Homewood Health’s incident inquiry line at 1-833-787-2862 or submit an online inquiry form to determine if they have been affected.
