The LAWPRO Lawyer Survey Gift Card Contest

These Contest Rules (the “Rules”) govern the LAWPRO Lawyer Survey Gift Card Contest (the “Contest”). The Contest is administered by Lawyers’ Professional Indemnity Company (“LAWPRO”) and is open only to eligible individuals. By participating in the Contest, entrants agree to be bound by these Rules.

1. Eligibility

To be eligible to enter the Contest, an individual must:

  • Be a practising lawyer licensed in Ontario;
  • Be a resident of Ontario and have reached the age of majority in Ontario; and
  • Complete the LAWPRO survey during the Contest Period.

The Contest is not open to employees, officers, directors, agents, and representatives of LAWPRO, as well as members of their immediate family (spouse, parent, child, sibling) and any person residing in the same household as such individuals (whether related or not).

LAWPRO reserves the right to require proof of identity and eligibility at any time. Failure to provide satisfactory proof may result in disqualification.

All information provided by entrants must be complete, truthful, and accurate. LAWPRO reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any entrant who provides false, misleading, or incomplete information.

2. Contest Period

The Contest Period begins on July 31, 2026 and ends on August 7, 2026 (the “Contest Period”). Entries received after the end of the Contest Period will not be accepted.

3. How to Enter

There is no purchase necessary to enter the Contest.

To enter the Contest, an eligible individual must complete the LAWPRO survey during the Contest Period. Entries must be received before the end of the Contest Period and must be complete and legible.

Eligible participants who complete the LAWPRO survey during the Contest Period will automatically receive one (1) entry into the Contest. Limit of one (1) entry per person. Where multiple entries are received from the same individual, only the first eligible entry will be considered, and the remainder will be void.

4. Prizes

A total of five (5) gift cards will be awarded.

Each gift card has an approximate retail value of CAD $50.

The total approximate retail value of all prizes is CAD $250.

Prizes must be accepted as awarded and cannot be transferred, assigned, substituted, or redeemed for cash, except at the sole discretion of LAWPRO.

The terms and conditions governing the use of each gift card are determined by the applicable retailer or service provider. LAWPRO is not responsible for administering or ensuring compliance with the terms and conditions of the gift cards.

Prizes will be delivered within a reasonable time after winners have been confirmed.

5. Winner Selection

Following the end of the applicable Contest Period, LAWPRO will conduct a random draw from all eligible entries received during the Contest Period.

Selected entrants will be contacted by email with instructions regarding prize redemption.

The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.

Each entrant is eligible to win only one (1) prize.

Before declaring a winner, a selected entrant must:

  • correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question administered by LAWPRO; and
  • satisfy all eligibility requirements contained in these Rules.

If a selected entrant does not respond within three (3) business days of notification, fails to satisfy the eligibility requirements, or fails to correctly answer the skill-testing question, the entrant may be disqualified and an alternate entrant may be selected.

6. Limitation of Liability

LAWPRO is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, damaged, or misdirected entries, or for technical failures that may affect participation in the Contest.

By participating in the survey, each entrant agrees to be bound by these Rules and the decisions of LAWPRO, which shall be final and binding in all respects.

LAWPRO reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who violates the Contest Rules or tampers with the entry process.

7. Privacy/Use of Personal Information

By entering the Contest, each entrant consents to LAWPRO collecting, using, and disclosing personal information for the purpose of administering the Contest, including contacting winners and delivering prizes.

8. Amendment or Termination

LAWPRO reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, modify, suspend, or terminate the Contest in whole or in part if fraud, technical failures, human error, or any other factor impairs the integrity or proper administration of the Contest.

9. Governing Law

The Contest is subject to applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws and regulations. The Rules shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.

The offices of LAWPRO are located on the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, Anishnabeg, Chippewa, Haudenosaunee and Wendat peoples. Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit. LAWPRO respects and acknowledges the histories, languages, knowledge systems, and cultures of First Nations, Metis, and Inuit nations.
