Job Title: Communications Co-ordinator: Reporting to Director of Communications
(Permanent, Full-Time, 1 Position)

We are looking for an energetic, skilled and results-oriented communicator to be part of a busy Communications Department. The Communications Co-ordinator assists with the company’s internal communications activities (including the company intranet), co-ordinates the company’s social media and multi-media presence, and assists in developing communication strategies and programs as needed. The coordinator also assists with the company’s websites, and production of insurance program materials. Some administrative responsibilities and event management support are also part of the job.

Job Location: Downtown Toronto

The ideal candidate should:

  • possess a university or community college degree, in communications/public relations or journalism;
  • have 2-4 years of relevant experience, ideally in a corporate setting;
  • have proven skills in writing for print and the web;
  • have proven skills in developing social media strategies and using social media channels in a corporate setting;
  • have an understanding of video production and editing software and experience in producing corporate video and multi-media;
  • be confident writing for a professional audience(lawyers);
  • have strong interpersonal communication skills and an ability to interact with both professionals and non-professionals;
  • have advanced computer abilities;
  • be self-directed, well-organized and able to juggle competing priorities and deadlines

Job Title: Director of Security & Operations: Reporting to Chief Information Officer
(permanent full-time)

The Director of Security & Operations is accountable for the secure and stable management of LAWPRO’s digital assets and information system environment. Key elements of the position will involve the management and mitigation of information security risk, and the continuous improvement of LAWPRO’s governance structure for safeguarding data. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, this new management role will lead a small team of IT professionals.

Job Location: Downtown Toronto

The ideal candidate should:

  • Working with senior management, develop strategies for the maintenance and growth of LAWPRO’s information system environment to anticipate evolving corporate needs
  • Lead the implementation and enforcement of strategies, procedures, policies and technologies that will maintain and protect corporate digital assets
  • Develop and maintain security and technology standards in accordance with regulatory guidelines and evolving best practices, and to respond to emerging security threats
  • Enforce and enhance technology and process change control procedures
  • Assist in the development of programs that will identify and classify critical assets and operational procedures, and implement risk mitigation procedures to safeguard operations
  • Participate in system and software architecture planning sessions to predict and identify security risks, and ensure adherence to security policies during development and in production
  • Lead security assessments for technology upgrades and implementations to identify and mitigate risk
  • Promote corporate security awareness and training programs for all staff
  • Work collaboratively with staff, management, consultants, and internal and external auditors to identify and mitigate information security risks
  • Participate in the maintenance and testing of the corporate business continuity plan
  • Participate in company’s formal incident response plan; manage and document all information security related incidents
  • Lead cloud, managed service, and VAR risk assessments
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ten years of relevant professional experience
  • Extensive current information security knowledge and proven track record for managing security and operations
  • Passion for continuing education in technology and security
  • Proven leadership and project management
  • Experience managing staff
  • Outstanding communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with interpreting and finding practical solutions to address industry and regulatory guidelines and standards
  • Experience implementing and managing advanced security systems (e.g., Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems, Data Loss Prevention, extended user authentication, encryption, unified log analysis, perimeter security, anti-spyware/anti-malware, etc.)
  • Experience with BYOD program definition and implementation
  • Experience with hosted and cloud-based security issues and challenges

The Lawyers’ Professional Indemnity company is a Toronto-based, professional liability insurer with a mandate to provide quality insurance services to our insured lawyers. As part of achieving our mandate, we are currently recruiting for a Program Coordinator (Bilingual).

The role of the Program Coordinator (Bilingual) is to provide written and verbal information on the insurance program to the members of the legal profession, and to be the main point of contact for inquiries in French. The information the Program Coordinator provides includes: information concerning insurance coverages for the lawyer, account information on premiums, and information on additional programs such as risk management. The successful candidate will be a high calibre individual who will receive intensive training about the program and the Company before answering any calls from the public.

Job Location:

The ideal candidate should:

  • be bilingual;
  • have a college or university degree;
  • have customer service experience;
  • have strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • have experience in Microsoft Word and Excel;
  • have experience working in a team environment and in stressful situations;
  • have strong organizational skills and be used to working in volume situations;
  • have a proactive approach to work; and
  • have law, underwriting, or claims related experience, preferred.

Job Title: TitlePLUS Analyst (Bilingual French/English): Reporting to Client Services Manager

The TitlePLUS® program provides business and support systems for real estate lawyers and Québec notaries, including title insurance, value-added products and related software packages.

We require a Bilingual Analyst to review TitlePLUS applications and to respond to TitlePLUS inquiries. We are looking for an individual who has a strong interest in real estate practice, who is interested in assisting the real estate Bar, and who is looking for an opportunity to use their legal and customer service skills in a business/ insurance context.
