RealtiPLUS launches transition program

To encourage real estate practitioners to gear up now for the new RealtiPLUS conveyancing system, CAKEsoft has launched a Transition to Transactions program for lawyers who sign up now to REALTI/psm+.

RealtiPLUS is a new conveyancing software program that combines the file processing capabilities of REALTI with the preparation of a TitlePLUS policy.

Unlike other products which are sold under a license model, RealtiPLUS will use a transaction-based fee structure. Firms will incur minimal initial costs, but will be charged a reasonable fee for each transaction with the system. Firms can disburse transaction fees to their clients.

The Transitions program works as follows:

  1. Firms can acquire REALTI/psm+ at a low initial cost, and process unlimited transactions at no additional cost.
  2. Only when the firm upgrades to RealtiPLUS in the coming year will transaction charges apply.
  3. Firms that purchased Realti/psm+ after September 30, 1999, will be credited with an amount equal to the difference between what the firm paid for REALTI/ psm+* and the standard RealtiPLUS "upfront" charges once they convert to RealtiPLUS.** Credits will have to be used within 12 months of initial installation of REALTI/psm+. Firms who purchased Realti/psm+ before September 30, 1999, will be eligible to participate in an alternative transition program.
  4. This credit can be applied to: other CAKEsoft product license fees; additional training; on-site support; RealtiPLUS transaction fees.

RealtiPLUS is now in its final testing phase. Its commercial release is scheduled for early in 2000.

* includes REALTI/psm+ license fee, SECURE support subscription and training.
** includes RealtiPLUS initial software fee and training.

TitlePLUS revamps its website

Information at your fingertips: That's the goal of the new TitlePLUS website, to be launched later this month.

The new site, which features a contemporary look, easy navigation and reams of resources, contains separate sections for each of its key audiences: lawyers. home buyers, realtors, and lenders.

The lawyers' section, which will be the first to be released this fall, will provide real estate practitioners with fast and easy access to TitlePLUS news, ideas for building business, resources such as confirmed lenders' lists, and tools such as sample letters, forms and reports. The latter will be accessible only to TitlePLUS subscribers who will, for example, be able to download sample bank reporting letters, access legal updates, view their TitlePLUS Times online and so on.

Sections of the TitlePLUS site geared specifically at external audiences will be released in November. These sites will emphasize the value that TitlePLUS lawyers bring to real estate transactions, and will be an integral part of the TitlePLUS marketing initiative.

For example, all website visitors will be able to obtain the names of TitlePLUS lawyers via a simple, postal code search. New home buyers will be able to scan a list of developments participating in the New Home Closing/GoodStart program, and obtain the names and contact numbers of lawyers participating in each development. Check out the new TitlePLUS website at http://www.TitlePLUS.ca.

TitlePLUS by phone, fax or online: The choice is yours!

TitlePLUS offers lawyers three ways to order a TitlePLUS policy.

Ordering by phone

Lawyers will be asked some questions to process an application. A draft policy and other documentation from TitlePLUS will follow. TitlePLUS will forward the final policy once it has been notified that the transaction has closed and the policy premium has been paid. Call TitlePLUS toll free at 1-800-410-1013 or (416) 598-5899.

Ordering by fax

Ordering by fax reduces the up front time commitment: Lawyers complete a basic Intake Form that collects selected data needed for a TitlePLUS application. A TitlePLUS representative will follow-up with a brief conversation to complete the process.

Ordering online

Using the online software continues to be the most effective way to obtain TitlePLUS coverage. The software lets the lawyer control the timing of the application process, and provides verification tools such as search/inquiry checklists. To subscribe, email us at TitlePLUS or call TitlePLUS at 1-800-410-1013 or (416) 598-5899.

When a policy is ordered online, the transaction will be eligible for the most beneficial premiums, value-added programs and services offered through the TitlePLUS program.
